The Monday Morning Exegete is a weekly publication that is sent in pdf format each Monday evening to subscribers who wish to get a jump start on their sermon preparation, their e-newsletter publication, and their weekly bible study and conversation with friends. Following the Episcopal Lectionary, the Monday Morning Exegete provides:
- a word study in Greek or Hebrew (sometimes both)
- a brief commentary on the collect and each of the readings
- a retelling of the gospel reading
- a cross-reference of when else the readings appear in the lectionary
- thought-provoking thematic imagery based on a the lectionary
- the lectionary readings
- a license to reprint the Monday Morning Exegete in whole and in part
The Monday Morning Exegete is a work of research, prayer, and reflection created by the Rev. Sare Gordy, and is available for a subscription of $20/month. The first issue of the Exegete is available for free download, and anyone wishing to give the Monday Morning Exegete a try may do so for free for a month.
