And this, from the Washington Post, this is happening in my sister’s neighborhood in DC, Columbia-Shaw Heights. My sister is a social worker, and these people are her co-workers, her clients.

I’m a member of a civic action group called MoveOn.org, and I just got this email. Did you guys know about this?? I’m quoting large parts of the email below, including the petition we can sign, letting our member of Congress know we support Network Neutrality – 18 and older.

Internet providers like AT&T and Verizon are lobbying Congress hard to gut Network Neutrality, the Internet’s First Amendment. Net Neutrality prevents AT&T from choosing which websites open most easily for you based on which site pays AT&T more. If Net Neutrality is gutted, MoveOn either pays protection money to dominant Internet providers or risks that online activism tools don’t work for members.
