What Is Holy?

“The holiest of all spots on earth is where an ancient hatred has become a present love.”

– A Course In Miracles, T-26.IX.6.1

I like this quote in part because it talks about what makes holiness. One way to describe holiness is the act of deep forgiveness, the whole process of reconciliation and atonement, grieving and forgiveness, death and rebirth until the darkness is wholly gone and only the light remains. It’s what makes some of our best stories so beautiful, and it’s so precious and lovely when we see it happen right before us in real life, and even in our own.
